This morning the House Judiciary Committee passed a series of bills that seeks to regulate medical marijuana.
House Bill 4834 would add additional information to the registry identification cards for patients and caregivers. It would require patient cards to have a photo ID, make the card valid for two years and privatize some of the registry process.
The second bill in the package, HB 4851, would define a bona fide patient-physician relationship. HB 4583 precribes penalties for caregivers who provide marijuana to an unqualified individual.
The final bill in the package, HB 4856, would require medical marijuana to be inaccessible when a patient is in a motor vehicle.
The bills now go to the full House for consideration.
