Community Revitalization Money (Brownfield Replacement) Available…APPLY NOW!

Posted on February 6, 2012 by Dene Westbrook

The program that was passed by the Legislature late last year – the Michigan Community Revitalization Program – is now up and running. There is $100 million total for both this program and for the Michigan Business Development Program. These are the state allocated dollars that the Michigan Municipal League fought for when the Brownfield and Historic and MEGA credits were eliminated last year.

Any community that is working with a developer on a revitalization program should go to http://www.michiganadvantage.org/MCRPP/ for information on how to apply for these dollars. We have been told that not many communities have applied for this money yet, so please go to this website and apply if you have a project in the works!

Please also lket me know if you have any issues or problems working through this new program. We have many folks in the Legislature, Governor’s office, and MEDC interested to see how this works over the next year.

Andy Schor is the Assistant Director of State Affairs for the Michigan Municipal League. Contact him at (517) 908-0300 or by email at [email protected].
