Description

Over the past 30 years, only two City Managers have had the pleasure to serve the City of Brighton. The City Council and Brighton team welcome your interest in serving as our next City Manager.

Located just 15 miles from the University of Michigan, and the bright lights of Ann Arbor, Brighton is revered for its eclectic downtown, Mill Pond Amphitheater, Mt. Brighton Ski Resort and community events that emulate that of a city of 100,000. The residents of Brighton, and Livingston County, marvel at the bustling activities such as the Taste of Brighton, Art & Music Fest, Smokin' Barbecue Blues & Jazz Festival and Ladies Night Out.

The Brighton Area Schools offer nine public schools serving just over 6,000 students. The Bulldogs are well-known for their academic, athletic and fine arts prowess.

The City Council has a long and rich history of supporting the council-manager form of government. Surrounded by a talented staff, the new City Manager will inherit an ideal opportunity for success.

Brighton is not a sleepy town. In fact, the new leader will be tasked to oversee a 2023 major streetscape project in downtown Brighton that will take the community's epicenter from "outstanding" to "unparalleled."

The ideal candidate will bring a proven record of exemplary leadership, a humble approach to serving the city and a focus on a collaborative style to relationship building. The city seeks a teambuilder who will represent the city in a honest and meaningful manner.

The opportunity offered by Brighton is a rare one. A cohesive city team, an amazing downtown and recreational offerings only found in large urban cities.

The Brighton City Council invites you to pull back the curtain and see what Brighton has to offer. We are a proud and welcoming city.
