Governor Rick SnyderAfter completing his first year in office, the Governor will reflect on a busy year and discuss what he hopes to accomplish in 2012 and beyond. Audio (Length: 11 minutes). Governor Snyder said a lot was achieved in his first year as he set out to establish a foundation for the reinvention of Michigan. Specific to cities, in 2012 he hopes to address crime and energy and the environment. |

He has profiled high level business professionals like Roger Penske, Cindy Pasky, Dan Gilbert, Edsel Ford, and A. Alfred Taubman. DBusiness garnered four Gold medals in the 2011 Editorial Excellence Awards from Alliance of Area Business Publications, including being named the top regional business magazine in the county. Prior to launching DBusiness in 2006, King was a business writer for the Detroit News where he wrote more than 4,000 articles covering economic development, automotive, health care, technology and transportation. Jeff HillJeff Hill is the publisher for Rapid Growth Media, is a lifelong resident of Michigan, and holds a bachelors degree in Communications and Economics from Western Michigan University. He will talk about how the economic climate is impacting things in the western side of Michigan and what he expects to happen in 2012. Audio (Length: 10 minutes). About 20,000 new jobs were created in Grand Rapids and West Michigan in 2011 and the “place and quality of life” are key factors people look at when deciding where to live and work. |

Mimi BellMimi Bell is editor of Great Lakes Bay Regional Lifestyle Magazine and Great Lakes Bay Business. She is also an independent editor and writer, editing and contributing content to a variety of national custom publications. She will talk about northern Michigan’s economic experience in 2011 and what is expected in the year to come. Audio (Length: 8:32 minutes). There are some exciting, new projects attracting people to move back to the downtowns of Bay City , Saginaw, Midland and other mid-Michigan communities. These projects are attracting a young, talented workforce. Much of the success being experienced is due to cooperation and collaboration between the Mid-Michigan communities. |
