Michigan Municipal League Selects Marquette to Host 2014 Annual Convention
LANSING, Michigan – The Michigan Municipal League has selected Marquette to host its 2014 Annual Convention.
This selection means that upward of 500 Michigan mayors, managers, and locally elected officials will descend to Marquette for the Convention October 14-17, 2014. The last time Marquette hosted the League Convention was in 2006. The city also hosted it in 1993 and 1989.
“We are excited about the opportunity to return to Marquette for our Convention in 2014,” said League President David Lossing, mayor of Linden, Michigan. “The League is a strong advocate of placemaking, which is creating the types of communities where people want to live, work and play. Marquette has long been a leader in the placemaking effort and our members always enjoy going there to experience all that Marquette has to offer.”
The League’s 2013 Convention is taking place September 18-20 in Detroit. For more information go to convention.mml.org.
