Bring Trainings to Your Community!
Can't afford the travel costs for all of your employees or elected officials? We are here to help you! The League offers affordable on-site trainings, where the training comes to you. We will identify a presenter that will address your community’s most urgent needs. Our most popular on-sites include Open Meetings Act, Freedom of Information Act, Parliamentary Procedure, Customer Service, Employment/Administrative Issues, and so many more.
If you would like to schedule an on-site training, please contact Katie Holda at email@example.com or 734-669-6352.
Workshop on Michigan Medical Marihuana Act
Join us for the Medical Marihuana Act & You Community Workshop on February 10, in Wyoming! The Medical Marihuana Act has been in effect for over two years, yet there are still many unanswered questions. How and where is medical marijuana dispensed? What are the implications for a municipality as an employer? On average, the state Department of Community Health is receiving 71 medical marijuana patient applications a day. What does that mean for your community? Do you understand what the Act entails?
This workshop will include an Overview of the Michigan Medical Marihuana Act 2 Years Later and a large panel of experienced speakers with plenty of time for Q & A.
Advocacy Workshop for Elected Officials
The Advocacy Workshop hosted by the Elected Officials Academy at the League Capital Office in Lansing has been rescheduled for March 21, 2011. This workshop will focus on the legislative issues in Lansing and Washington that the League is involved with and the background of those issues, including revenue sharing, transportation funding, PA 312, and more. Elected officials will also discover the League’s role in policymaking, legislative lobbying, and how each League member can get involved.
This program is open to all League members. Click here to register!
