Have an on-site training need? We’ve got you covered
The League would like to welcome the new events & communications associate, Katie Holda. Katie came to the League from the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce, where she worked as the communications assistant. Katie will now be available to work with members to schedule on-site trainings.
On-site trainings, or “on-sites,” are a good way to bring personalized training to your community. If you’re looking for a particular program tailored to your needs, on-sites are designed with you in mind. The League offers an array of topics including Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), Open Meetings Act (OMA), Parliamentary Procedure, Act 54 certified programs, and more.
Michigan Local Government Management Association
The registration for the MLGMA Summer Workshop, July 27-30, 2010, at Crystal Mountain is now open! Click here to register.
For those who have just completed budgets or for those who are just starting the process, this year’s theme will ring true for everyone in local government: “Survivor Michigan, Extreme Budgets, Politics, Ethics and Challenges.” Educational session topics will range from financial/economic forecasts for Michigan, ethical challenges, and millage elections, to credentialed manager opportunities. As in the past, the summer conference is also about enjoying time with family. A number of activities have been developed including shopping in Traverse City, canoeing/kayaking, scavenger hunts, and Great Lakes salmon fishing.
