Michigan Municipal League CEO Dan Gilmartin was on News/Talk 760 WJR last week (Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2012) with Paul W. Smith discussing Michigan cities, Governor Rick Snyder and an array of other issues. Dan started out the interview discussing the emergency management issue in Detroit and other Michigan cities. Governor Snyder Gives Second State of the State Speech - During Governor Snyder’s second State of the State speech last week he discussed a few issues of importance to local communities. Among the topics were Personal Property Tax elimination, public safety and transportation. Governor Snyder mentioned the need to eliminate the PPT, but also mentioned the great importance of local communities and the services they provide.  MORE>
