Federal Update
Mandatory Collective Bargaining Language Passes U.S. House – Just prior to their July 4th recess, the U.S. House passed a supplemental appropriation bill, H.R. 4899, containing language that would mandate collective bargaining of municipalities, counties and states when dealing with public safety employees, under one-size-fits-all rules to be developed later. It is urgent that you call Senators Levin and Stabenow and tell them to vote against a supplemental bill unless the mandatory collective bargaining language is removed and given fair hearing on its own merits.
